Tuesday horse racing tips from Tom Lunn at Lingfield and Hereford

Lingfield betting tips

1.10: Sao Carlos 5/4 (2pts)

Rivals haven’t done too well over hurdles on their first attempt and though they have the experience, Olly Murphy and Sean Bowen are always capable of bringing out a horse on seasonal debut and the backing is there for a big run.

He won a bumper back in December and hasn’t been seen since, but this could be the time for the winners to start firing in for the successful combination.

1.45: Super Survivor 9/4 (1pt)

Bowen is on board another tip here on Tuesday afternoon, coming into just his second season chasing having already beaten the likes of Mister Coffey in December 2022.

Went on a bit of a break before placing at Uttoxeter in March and hasn’t been seen since.

Suits soft ground, even though he was a non-runner for that reason in April, but has also avoided good to soft before too.

Still looks as though he can progress further over fences though especially now he’s seven.

2.20: Operation Manna 4/6 (2pts)

Operation Manna also looks to still be on the up after his return nine days prior, winning on soft ground at Sandown beating Branson Missouri by 13 lengths.

Has Cameron Iles on board again here, this time claiming just 7lb rather than 10lb last time out.

Odds-on at this early stage for a reason too as he carries the bottom weight in an open handicap hurdle contest.

Hereford betting tips

1.30: Jigginstown King 6/4 (1pt)

Sam Twiston-Davies is on board this favourite and the jockey’s got a great amount of wins on favourites over the last two weeks.

From his eight wins in 32 rides, five of them have been as the favourite, varying in prices too.

And crucially, this horse looks to be on the up still having won three in a row over fences, and last time out was not only his seasonal debut after a summer break but also his first since having a wind op in August.

Only upped 2lb as a result of the narrow win but there should be more progression coming from this six-year-old.
