Staycity takes Wilde aparthotel brand to France

Aparthotel operator Staycity Group will debut its premium Wilde brand in France with a new property set to open in Bordeaux.

The 113-unit property is currently under development and scheduled to open in 2026 as part of an ‘urban haute couture’ development in Bordeaux’s Canopia district.

The 70,000-sqm development will consist of commercial, leisure and residential space with a “strong focus” on sustainability. There’s also a tree-lined link connecting the nearby Bordeaux Saint Jean train station and the Garonne river.

The aparthotel, meanwhile, will include a rooftop restaurant, bar, guest lounge, laundry room, luggage storage and 24-hour reception.

“We are excited to be working alongside [property developer] Apsys as part of this project in the beautiful and popular city of Bordeaux,” said Staycity Group development director Barry Hickey.

“We have successfully operated aparthotels in a number of French cities for several years now, and remain keen to expand our estate further in France, as well as in other key destinations across Europe.”

After posting a record turnover in 2023, Staycity is escalating its expansion plans across Europe, with more Wilde-branded properties set to open in London, Amsterdam and Portugal. The upcoming Bordeaux hotel will be the group’s seventh site in France, with existing StayCity properties in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille.
