One person was wounded in a stabbing in the French Quarter early Monday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Two men were arguing near the intersection of St. Ann and Chartres streets when the fight became physical, police said. One of the men cut the other’s stomach with an unidentified object.
Police were called to the intersection at 1:23 a.m.
The victim was transported to a hospital and the suspect, 30-year-old Zaku Lawson, was arrested on scene, police said. Lawson was booked on counts of aggravated battery and resisting an officer, according to online jail records.
Police did not immediately release more information.
