AC Milan rival Marseille’s pursuit of Paulo Fonseca – Get French Football News

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Olympique de Marseille are pushing hard for Paulo Fonseca to accept their offer to become the next manager in La Provence.

They have reportedly tabled a three-year contract to the current Lille OSC boss who will be out of contract with Les Dogues in the summer. Marseille’s attempts to push forward with this deal are partly influenced by their concern over the interest in the Portuguese manager shown by AC Milan.

Di Marzio writes that Milan have been interested in the profile of Fonesca for a while, and with their current manager Stephan Pioli stepping down at the end of the campaign, they will be free to approach their target. Milan would be an attractive prospect and can offer Champions League football to the Lille manager – something Marseille can only do if they win the Europa League.

Marseille roll out the welcome for Paulo Fonseca

In response, Marseille will provide a blank cheque for Fonseca to install his vision at the club to help convince the manager that a project in the south of France which has seen four managers pass through the revolving doors in the past three seasons is where he should turn his focus.
