57 barred clubs can attend Hyderabad Cricket Association AGM on Feb 18 | Cricket News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has permitted 57 clubs, which were debarred from participating in the HCA elections in October last year, to take part in the forthcoming AGM to be held on February 18 at the RGIC Stadium, here. However, their participation in the AGM will be subject to their submitting an affidavit ‘in the enclosed format that they no longer have a conflict of interest’.
In a circular issued to the clubs on Monday, the HCA said: “It is hereby informed that, in consonance with the legal opinion received by the HCA, the 57 affiliated clubs of the HCA as mentioned in the order passed by the single member committee dated 31.07.2023 will be permitted to attend and participate in the AGM proposed to be held on 18.02.2024.”
“In this connection, the attention of the 57 clubs is invited to Para 22 of the order dated 31.07.2023 and they are requested to make the requisite changes (if not already made) to their office-bearers/executive committee members in order to ensure that the same are in line with the earlier order and submit the same to the HCA office on or before 5 pm on 15.02.2024,” the circular added.
“In addition, an affidavit in the enclosed format is to be submitted by the club duly signed by the present president/secretary of the club affirming the compliance of the order dated 31.07.2023,” the circular noted.
It is pertinent to note that on July 31 last year, Justice (retd) L Nageswara Rao, who was appointed by the Supreme Court as a one-man panel to clean up the mess in the HCA and conduct elections to the cricket body, had debarred 57 clubs from participating/voting in HCA elections for one term or 3 years whichever is higher for having a conflict of interest. “It is made clear that this bar is only for one term of office bearers of HCA or for a period of three years, whichever is higher,” he had said in the order.
